We all know when something needs to be addressed but trying to get signatures for a petition might be impractical. In such cases, one can exercise their 1st Amendment Constitutional right and peacefully gather and demonstrate.
During the course of the 400 days that I was on the picket line, several people stopped by to participate. These are some of the pictures of those that participated.
The picket ended because the statute of limitation took affect, meaning that if the Cook County States Attorney did nothing up to a certain point in time, the issue could not be brought before a court.
The Cook County States Attorney was Dick Devine, an underling of Mayor Daley. So, the probability of him doing anything was equal to 0.
He did, however, rename the voter fraud unit three times during the course of the picket. Now it’s combined with the business fraud unit. This allows that office to deny a FOIA request because it would require separation of data. Coy move on their part. But remember this is Chicago politics and we have fair elections (hehehehe). If you believe that, I have some other fairy tales for you.
