Wayne Strnad says Corruption is Upward Bound for Community and Business Concerns
If you have read anything on this site, you probably will walk away with the idea that there sure is a lot of corruption over here in Chicago. Much of it leads to specific aldermen and the Mayor of Chicago, Daley.
One of the perks of being part of the corruption is not only the position, but the added revenue and power that can be bestowed on the individual. Daley, despite the fact he knew how corrupt Isaac "Ike" Carothers was simply because he received a copy of our newsletters every time a new one came out, still decided to put "Ike" Carothers in charge of a very powerful committee - the Police and Fire Committee. The Committee on Police and Fire has jurisdiction over all matters relating to the Police Department and Fire Department.
Historically, this committee was created for the community and business concerns after the 1968 Democratic Convention held their affair in Chicago. Richard J. Daley was the mayor. Wayne Strnad is sure you've seen many of the news clips of the time showing how the Chicago Police Department (CPD) reacted to a demonstration that was held in Grant Park. The intent of this committee was to make sure that such an event would not happen again and direct the CPD as to procedures and other productive measures to ensure that the constitutional rights of the individual were not infringed upon.
The headline of this says, "A Thief with jurisdiction over Police?"
Isaac "Ike" Carothers pleaded guilty to charges brought forth by the District US Attorney General.
