Wayne Strnad exposes Tommy Johnson on behalf of the community and business alike

When Isaac "Ike" Carothers stole an election by the Absentee Vote, he had removed a lady by the name of Carol Hardwell from her position as 29th Ward Superintendent.  Carol was a commuity oriented individual.  He replaced her with Tommy Johnson.  Within a short period of time Johnson was elevated to the position of District Superintendent.  Now, instead of being in charge of one ward, he was in charge of 10 wards.

Wayne Strnad was being given all sorts of information by city employees who were treated unfair.  For the most part, Johnson was at the top of the list of people who encouraged reciprocity against those who did not either 1) want to join with Carothers organization or 2) worked for another candidate who Carothers did not approve.  Johnson had attained "kingpin" status in Carothers organization and wielded a lot of weight - in more ways than one.

Wayne Strnad took all this information, verified it, and then published it for the community and business concerns.  He delivered it to many of the Streets and Sanitation offices as well as all the aldermanic offices via fax.

In the photo to the right, you see where Wayne Strnad was standing when Tommy Johnson nearly ran him over with a Streets and Sanitation van.  Wayne was standing near the pile of snow, on public property.  Johnson told Strnad that he could not pass out any information on Street and Sanitation property.  Wayne told Johnson that where he was standing was public property and not within the confines of the gated area.  In fact, the very position where this photo was taken showed a sidewalk.  You can see this in other pages of this website.

It is the responsibility of an public facility to make sure that snow is removed on the sidewalk.  Seems that Johnson, being in charge of the facility, does not agree with it.

This document is one of the newletters that was produced during that period.  It clearly shows all the violations that went ignored by any of the higher ups, including Daley.
