To Whom It May Concern:

I, along with a multitude of other professionals, have gone by the wayside with a more than frustrating experience involving your company. For those that have helped I can only extend my sincere thanks for all their effort and energy that has been spent for naught. The end result of all this is this letter, which shall make its way through various political entities who may now want to listen to what is said.

A little over a month and a half ago I was starting my rehab. You see, I had a stroke which left one-half of my body paralyzed. What was a vibrant man had turned into a sullen individual who was almost ready to give up. Mind you, I said almost for I am not the sort of person that gives up on anything.

The only things I had going for me were my tenacity and love from others that have tried to help.

Briefly, let me tell you that the service your organization provides is phenomenally poor at best. Here is an example:

No matter what time one calls during regular business hours, nobody is there to answer the phone. So there is no confusion in regular business hours, let me state that the hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Since your company is part of the companies that are providers under the Affordable Care Act, I would have suspected you to have extended hours especially during the enrollment period.

Well, the day in and day out routine shows that nobody is ever there. It does not matter whether one deals with the phone number on the website (844-674-3844), or Member Services number (844-674-3844). Wow, it looks like we repeated ourself but you will only know this fact after you cough up some major bucks and become a member. It all leads to the same exact thing i.e. a recording that says due to heavy call volume please leave your phone number. You will not lose your place in line.

Now I really don't expect you to believe the next sentence because your actions show the contrary, but let me go ahead and say it: There is no possible way an office that is fully staffed can have such a high call volume that the answering machine is going to kick in due to overflow at 9:00 AM. Are you running a scam on your members or was that the public at large?

Not only is the timing a problem but there are apparently major network problems to boot. Your answering machine does not let me leave a mobile number when I type the number with my mobile phone. That network was TMobile. Not to be outdone, Straight Talk, which has a Verizon Backbone, also has a problem leaving a number on their answering machine. What's the end result? Nothing because after two attempts of leaving a number it hangs up on you. Isn't that sweet?

Not to be outdone, their website is just as verbose with errors. Here is a little tidbit with their certificate of authenticity.

As you can see, there appears to a major error with their certificate. Basically they do not have one as shown in the chrome browser. When one tries Safari then one gets the error message that says you must allow cookies. I wonder why they must have cookies enabled especially since they are not a real corporation in the State of Illinois. What?

Yes, I am shocked to discover that myself.

In the picture to the left, you can see the two registered names that appear when one searches on the Secretary of State web site for “Land of Lincoln Health”.

File Number 68083737 references Land of Lincoln Health, Inc and the other

File Number 63039462 references Land of Lincoln Health And Safety, Incorporated. So far nothing seems wrong.

Now if you click on the link for each of these document you see some amazing stuff.

Let us view the data for File Number 68083737. This is supposed to be Land of Lincoln Health, Inc. What actually shows on the Secretary of State data is an Entity Name of Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council Co-Op. It is a not-for-profit corporation that was incorporated on 9/16/11. Then on 3/23/12 and 3/27/12 there were two old corporation names used. They are Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council Co-Op and Land of Lincoln Health, Inc., respectively.

Of the dates mentioned in both these reports, from 2005 through 2013 there were no financial reports made to the Secretary of State. Note that as of 2015 they are still in business.

Ten years later this company is apparently allowed to do business and even sanctioned to do so by the Insurance Marketplace. How does this company get away with not filing any sort of report for so many years and still deal with lots of money.

Not only that, why can a member not get through? I have been calling for over a month and a half. No reply at all.

One Month And One Day

Today I just discovered that now I must deal with a group called Adventist. Also any script that gets written by a doctor must be an “Adventist Doctor.” Was this mentioned to me when I signed up? Never.

I take issue with that statement in that everyone who is a doctor with this grop are the only ones that can get services of the sort I need. This means every other doctor, which includes some of the most brilliant minds in the world, could not write me a script for therapy! Do you believe that? Wow is this thing screwed up in this country.

Note that the current information was not correct either. Basically the nurse was told that the plan is an HMO. Technically I could go anywhere but the preferred part gives me a better rate. This is what I originally thought and said several days or weeks back.

So, here we are back to square one and I still have nothing being done in terms of physical or occupational therapy. It is officially one month and one day.

I would love to see our federal representatives in the House and the Senate go through this nonsense. Ah, just for good measure let's throw in our State of Illinois representatives and senators. Maybe if they had to go through this stuff then they would get off their tush and correct this stuff. Got that Gov and Madigan?

Doctors Name Appears Buy They Are Not There…

The Never Ending Saga of Land of Lincoln Health Insurance

We ended the last article by showing some of the plans that are available as well as some of the places one can go for services.

You can also do the same thing for doctors.

Fact is I researched their doctor listings and came up with 12 doctors. Some were family doctors (5) and some were for Internal Medicine (7). These were all the people listed and I assume available.

Well, your might be luckier than I because the first person i called was no longer at the place. They did give me another number for him which I promply called. Guess what?

He was no not at that number either. They did tell me he did not have an office either.

This was the start of my wonderful day.

For those that are interested, I did find another doctor but her office was not sure whether or not she was in the perferred plan. This they told me while I came to their office and started filling out the paperwork.

The long and short of it is that I did get my drug prescription renewed – an act that I thought was worthless – and most importantly, got the necessary paperwork that was going to be faxed over so I could start the therapy.
