It is unfortunate that all people in the economic class labeled as middle and lower class, have to pay the burden for banking problems that have been prevalent for more than 30 years. The Saving and Loan scandal took its toll on the very same people who were ripped off from the banks back in the 1980's. People's life's savings were lost, or perhaps we should say, stolen by bankers that got away scott-free and were never charged with anything, served no jail-time, and paid no money back to the victums. How sad a turn in this countries history. One, who was involved with the scandal, is a brother of a former president named Bush. He later became governor of the State of Florida - the same state that had voter fraud in a presidential election. 
People must realize that what's going on in this country right now is simply not right! Sorry if you think the contrary but I would suggest that you open your eyes and look at what's happening on the socio-economic level.
I don't have all the answers nor do I claim to but I do have some tips that can help the average person stretch their few dollars further.
