Dear Mayor,
Enclosed are petitions, circulated in the 29th ward, regarding new concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters and sod for the 2100 block of North Marmora Avenue. In the past, we have not received much cooperation with our city officials. Because we feel we deserve, and are entitled to, basic city services that we don’t receive, we will submit a copy of this correspondence along with the petitions to the press.
Sincerely,

This photo shows the deplorable conditions that the people tolerated for more than 90 years. Every decade or so the city would send in a truckload of stone and place it near the end of the block as shown below.
The residents would then go and get the stones and shovel it in front of their house. The amazing thing is that this area is taxed $.01 less per square foot then an area where the former Commander of the 25th District lives. One is led to the question as to WHY these pay so much but get so much less!
