Hansen Park vs Oriole Park
I have lived in the same community for more than 30 years of my life. It is a community rich in cultural resources, but not very rich in money. In fact, many residents struggle to provide for their family. Due to the economy many find themselves without a job or take a job on a part-time basis hoping to find full-time employment.
Yet, the Cook County Assessor tax the people in the Belmont-Cragin area nearly at the same rate (actually 1 cent different per square foot) as a "better" maintained area of Chicago on northwest side. Here is an example of one such disparity of the benefits people endure.
