Today our electricity went out for a couple of seconds. The time was approximately 6:16am.

We are currently analyzing whether or not this had any effect on our servers or any other files that were being worked on.

Note: Our community has been neglected for decades both by the City of Chicago as well as the utility companies. It's time to put an end to this neglect.

At 6:45 am the power went out in our community.

Called 3-1-1 and they transferred the call over to ComEd.

Stupid answering system:
1. Tells you to visit their website. How do they expect you to do that when you have no power at all.
2. Asks for your account number or phone number. In total darkness they expect you to provide an account number, which must be looked up in your past records, usually sitting in a folder that you cannot see anyway.

How about a live operator? After this company was granted a rate increase they did nothing in our community to repair anything, despite the fact the problems with wiring was reported periodically over the last 10 years.

Then they tell you to wait on the line. I waited more than 28 minutes as did one of my neighbors who also called. Nobody answered the phone.

After this the City of Chicago was called to file a complaint.

Complaints for this company are directed to the Illinois Commerce Commission. The address and phone number shall be provided later.

The power went back on approximately 6 hours later.

If you live in the Belmont-Cragin area then as soon as we get the complaint form and put it online for you, download it and fill it out. Don't accept this kind of service. You deserve better especially since you're paying more for it.

Another "instant blackout" occurred on 3/13/09 at approximately 9:05 pm.

ComEd has still not replaced the torn and exposed wires that were reported last year.

Phone calls made to ComEd without getting through:

8/4/08 - 8:28pm - 2 minutes 39 seconds
No one available. Told to call back.

8/5/08 - 5:54am - 11 minutes 40 seconds
No answer.

Last entry in computer logs show a power outage occuring at 1:05 am on August 5, 2008.

Same day as previous post, about 9 minutes later another power outage was recorded at 8:12 pm.

Called at 8:28 pm to report an outage but after waiting for more than 2 minutes and 38 seconds, ComEd gave a message that due to the heavy call volume all circuits were busy. Please call back later.

Another power failure happened at 8:03 pm on August 4, 2008.

Unbelievable. It went out again just a short time thereafter at 8:14 am then went back on around 9:00 am.

Hey ComEd - do you think you can get it right this time?

Still another on July 20, 2008 around 4:15 am. This lasted until 7:23 am.

Another blackout happened today, July 15, 2008, at around 1:00 pm.

This could be an indication of a serious problem.
